Equine Pathways UK was founded in February 2014 by two like-minded Leeds ladies, who have over 80 years worth of equine experience under their belts and through a chance meeting through their love of equines, they came to the conclusion that they wanted to achieve the same goal in life - They wanted to help people in need, through the spirit of the horse
Carole Taylor BHSAI MRPCH tESA - Qualified riding Instructor, professional horsewoman (Monty Roberts Certificate holder) and successful Leeds businesswoman, Carole has been the owner of The Yorkshire Equine Clinic for the past 20 years. Carole grew up with horses and ponies in her life, she started riding at a very early age and over the years has built a very special bond between herself and our equine friends. Having helped a large number of horses with injuries and behavioural problems, Carole also rescued a number of horses and ponies that were very close to not surviving. She nursed them, rehabilitated them and some of which are now members of the Equine Pathways Team. Paula Godfree MinstF (Cert) RDAGI - Qualified Fundraising Manager and Riding for the Disabled Group Instructor, Paula had her first pony bought for her by her parents when she was 18 months old. She could ride before she could run! Horses have always been in her life and she has a very deep spiritual understanding of them. Having worked with horses for a number of years, she took her qualifications to teach disabled riders with the RDA. She decided to do a degree in Fundraising Management with The Institute of Fundraising and luckily passed her exams. Having now worked in the charity sector for 12 years and after meeting Carole, Equine Pathways UK was founded. Lucy Pritchard Bsc (Hons) PGDip MBACP - Qualified Counsellor and Psychotherapist educated to Post Graduate level, a registered member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy and follows the BACP Ethical Framework. Lucy has lots of life experience and has seen most of the world. Her background was in travel before she became a therapist. Her travel throughout the world has given her an extremely broad outlook on life and it has helped her gain the ability to understand other people and their unique perspectives. Lucy is trained in the relational approach, she believes it is the relationship between the horse and the client that is therapeutic and she endeavours to provide a safe and secure space to get to know yourself better through connecting with the horses. Equine Pathways UK is a registered charity Reg. No. 1160850, with a board of Trustees and is situated in Gildersome, Leeds, West Yorkshire. Providing free equine assisted therapy sessions to people suffering with depression, adults and children with disabilities and additional needs, our troops suffering with Post Traumtic Stress Disorder and children who may have been bullied at school and need their confidence and self-esteem rebuilding. Horses are very special creatures, they instantly feel what we are feeling, know what we are thinking and can even sense how fast our heart is beating. They reflect our inner emotions, they are a mirror of our soul. By working with our Equine Team, in the safe environment of an indoor roundpen, clients soon start to realise exactly what their own personal issues are and how the outside world see them. Through learning body language whilst working with the horse, relationships are built, confidence and self-esteem grows and life is seen in a different light forever. |
